A few weeks ago, the youth had a special activity focusing on Christlike compassion and service. Stacey Shaw from the Morningside Heights Ward came to share some of her thoughts and experiences as a social worker. She taught us about the importance of loving and caring for those who find themselves in difficult circumstances. Christ spent his life blessing and uplifting the sick and the needy, and it is our privilege to try to follow his example. After her lesson, we assembled craft and game kits for young patients at the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. Although we were not able to visit these children in person, we felt lucky to be able to do something even as small as this that might bring them a little bit of extra happiness during their health challenges. We left feeling committed and excited about spreading Christ's love and compassion to those around us.
