For our January keynote event, the MTC had the chance to visit our very own David Hawkins in his art studio on Columbia campus, where he is finishing his master's of fine arts in visual arts. David showed us several of his fascinating and thought-provoking works in progress, most of which are installation-type sculptures that reflect on the interaction between humans and the environment around us. He then led us in a discussion about the importance of this earth in the Plan of Salvation and the relationship between creation by Heavenly Father and creation by artists. We all learned a lot and came away feeling especially grateful for the beautiful creations of nature that God has entrusted to us. You can learn more about David's work at www.daveyhawkins.com.
